Most notes we write are disposable. A grocery list. A Slack ping. A draft we will polish tomorrow.
A letter to future-you is different because you choose a date when the envelope may open—and then you stop editing.
The lock is the point
When you cannot reopen the message, honesty gets easier. You stop performing for the version of yourself who lives in this week.
- Write one page, not a memoir
- Name one fear and one hope
- Pick an unlock date that means something
